Exciting day today as there are new bikes in the bike sheds, Danielle is ridiculously excited in fact. She had to have a stern talking to when we got to volunteering this morning as she was more unpredictable on the roads than even the locals. I think she thought she was t' fastest bike in Yorkshire and was just zooming out at junctions and roundabouts with cars jamming on brakes left right and centre.
We cleaned rocks all day today instead of sand, we're not sure if this is a promotion or de motion but again we're sure it's dead important. We went for a ride on our new bikes after work as Danielle is now slightly bike obsessed after refusing to ride one for years (definitely getting a bike when she gets home). We cycled for miles up a road to see some shops and restaurants that Danielle had seen on our trip to the villages last week but unsurprisingly enough they were just a figment of her imagination and didn't exist so we just turned around and went home.
We stumbled upon Angkor Famous restaurant in the evening which was a recommendation from jenadvisor.com. We went for the local lok lak which is a beef and sauce fried egg ricey kind of thing and short noodles with fried chicken. Both amazing and both ridiculously cheap especially when washed down with 50 cent beers.
Our first Cambodian massage after a walk around the markets and Danielle talked all the way through as per usual. Even after mentioning that me and everyone else in the massage parlour might like a few moments quite to enjoy our massage, she just stopped talking for about two seconds then started again. Probably about new elephant pants which she is obsessed with. Can someone please comment on here to let her know how bad these things are as she's now got two pairs and is hunting for more.
Finished the day off with more drinks on a balcony bar down pub street which had some traditional kyhmer dancing (and happy hour(s)).
Brilliant blogging…….
